Kow Essuman, a graduate student in Dr. Jeff Milbrandt’s lab in The Department of Genetics at Washington University School of Medicine, was recently named a Spencer T. and Ann W. Olin Medical Science Fellow.

The Olin award recognizes outstanding achievement in biomedical research and is given annually to less than five percent of graduating DBBS and MSTP students. Candidates are nominated by their mentors, and screened by their PhD program, who submit no more than two candidates to the MSTP committee for consideration. The committee selects honorees based on the significance of their research findings and their potential for a research career. Kow is one of four Olin fellows for the 2018-2019 academic year.

He will be recognized with a $1,000 award and as an honoree at a dinner later this spring. Congratulations, Kow!
